Like I said in my first article I am an anty talent when it comes to cooking.

I am very glad that yesterday I managed to do a dish for the baby that I cooked for the first time in my life. It is called pilaf which is a type of rice with different vegetables. This receipe I adapted after reading several receipts of it and I tried to adapt it for the baby. It was actually quite easy and it turned out very good. I had never cooked pilaf in my life before. I was actually surprised at the end that it looked exactly like it was supposed to look.

So the first step I did was to turn on the multicooker :) I bought a multi-cooker when I was pregnant in order to learn to cook some easy meals; it turns out it does help in the kitchen and it helped me a lot. So I selected the manual function for 40 minutes because I added meat to the recipe and I wanted to make sure it’s well done.

Then I started to add in the ingredients. I used:

- a carrot

- an onion

- a green bell pepper; all of them chopped in small pieces

- a spoon of butter

- a mug of rice

- 3 mugs of water

- tomato paste

At the end, I added three pieces of chicken breast. It took me about 10 minutes to prepare all the ingredients and add them in the multi-cooker.

Then, I let them cook for 40 minutes in the multicooker, 40 minutes in which I did not have to do anything. It was great because I did not have to stay near the stove and make sure that the food did not burn :)

Turns out the dish was perfect, it was really tasty and I am glad that it had the right texture. So the best way to see how good it was was the baby’s reaction, and she loved it. It was very well done, the meat was very cooked so the baby could very easily chew it. She ate the first bowl, she liked it very much and then she asked for more :) She was banging on the empty bowl with her spoon so she received the second portion. I actually was surprised that she was able to eat that much. Overall it was a great success so if you’re in need of an idea for a healthy food for the bab, give this a try.
